Passengers are welcome to board at 6:00 p.m. in Vienna. After you’ve comfortably settled into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail before enjoying dinner on board.
This morning's optional excursion is a tour of Hofburg Palace and the Sisi Museum. The imperial Hofburg Palace is one of the largest palatial complexes in the world. Its disproportional splendor fascinates history and architecture lovers from around the world. Must-sees include the Imperial Treasury, Imperial Apartments, and the Sisi Museum.
We’ll return on board for lunch and continue to cruise towards Passau. The Sun Deck awaits during our afternoon cruise on the Danube! We'll glide through the beautiful Wachau Valley, overflowing with remarkably well-preserved medieval scenery that has developed naturally over the ages. This magnificent stretch of the Danube has been the source of romantic tales for centuries. Enjoy an evening of entertainment on board. Our ship will cruise through the night.
We'll spend the day cruising the Danube. The river crosses 10 countries for some 1,770 miles (2,850 km). As the second largest river in Europe, it represents incomparable character, with Vienna as one of the most beautiful examples. Cruising on the Danube is like following a thousand-year-old history class on Central Europe. Enjoy the onboard activities during this time. We’ll arrive in Passau at the end of the afternoon. Join us for a tour of the city. The “City of Three Rivers” lines the river bank and offers visitors a wide range of historical interests. The Italian masters who rebuilt the city after the 17th-century fires heavily influenced what we see now. Picturesque streets such as Höllgasse (Artists' Alley) beckon a stroll from the old town to the baroque patrician homes. We'll return on board for dinner while the ship continues to Regensburg. Our ship will cruise through the night.
We'll spend the morning cruising to Regensburg. Optional excursion: Tour of Regensburg and its famous Walhalla. Located within eastern Bavaria, Regensburg is a veritable open-air museum. Its old town—the only preserved medieval city in Germany—is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The twelfth century, when the Stone Bridge opened, marked the city's golden age. Among the sites we'll see are the Gothic cathedral, patrician homes and towers, and the Walhalla—an imposing Greek-style hall of fame for distinguished Germans that dominates a bend along the Danube a few miles from Regensburg. We’ll return on board in Kelheim and continue cruising to Nuremberg. Tonight is our festive gala. Our ship will cruise through the night.
