We'll leave by coach for Mateus Palace, an extraordinary baroque mansion built in the 18th century. Take a stroll through the magnificent gardens that surround the palace. We'll then head to Vila Real, where you'll have some time on your own. Built in the first half of the 18th century, this palace is considered one of the finest examples of baroque civil architecture in Portugal. We'll return to Régua for a visit to the Douro Museum to learn about the passionate history and winemaking heritage in the region. We will return to the ship on foot.
