3 reasons to join a themed river cruise in Europe

Themed cruises are becoming more and more popular with active holiday lovers.

From the river cruise itinerary to the shore excursions, the onboard entertainment and the meals, CroisiEurope puts together new European river cruise itineraries to let you personalise your holiday. Whether you fancy a family break, a rambling or biking holiday, a new river cruising experience or a gourmet cruise, CroisiEurope has just what you need.

⭐ Active cruises: what’s new?

An original concept combining the pleasure of going out on walks or bike riding and the comfort of a cruise: CroisiEurope is the company for active cruises! The ship, a truly floating hotel for travellers, takes fellow ramblers or bike riders from site to site along the river. An alternative programme for the accompanying passengers is also in place so that they can also enjoy the destination.

For bike cruises, all the visits are made by bike in the best conditions thanks to the technical assistance and maintenance provided along the cruise. The technician can act immediately in case of a punctured tire or if any other assistance is required. Tired of pedalling? The driver can take you to the ship. Bikes and maps are provided by CroisiEurope, who also prepare the itinerary from 15 to 60 km depending on the region you’re riding through and at the riders' convenience. Often, cyclists will only come back to the boat at dinner time and will picnic at one of the interesting sights they see along the way, thanks to the delicious packed lunch prepared by the chefs on board.

Walking cruises are great for ramblers of all levels who can go deeper off the beaten path for the selected destination. Lasting 2 to 5 hours, with various elevation differences and difficulty levels, there is a special programme for the accompanying passenger who may not wish to join the rambling outing. This way, everybody can enjoy the cruise at their own pace. Accompanied by a local guide, the rambling cruises are part of the all-inclusive cruise packages.

⭐ Families are welcome on CroisiEurope river cruises

A Rhine cruise is ideal for an inter-generational holiday. There is plenty to discover for architecture and history lovers.

The excursions include visits to towns along the Rhine both in France and Germany, including Strasbourg, Heidelberg or Cologne and Frankfurt. The Rhine Valley is also famous for all its castles dotting the steep banks of the river, covered mainly in vineyards. Both the young and older generations will be fascinated by the great legends and the Lorelei Rock to discover along the Rhine.

Canal barge cruises are also ideal to share a family holiday. Everything on board is there to cater for everybody: jacuzzi, bikes, lounge bar, and comfortable chairs on the deck. A team of captain, chef, purser and waiters will be there to do all the work, leaving you to relax and enjoy your family holiday.

The cruise is free for children 2 and under.

-30% reduction for children 10 and under.

Don't miss our special time-limited offer:

cruises in Venice (ref. VSI and ref. VEN) are free for children 16 and under in July & August 2018!

⭐ Ever been on a paddlewheel boat?

The Loire and Elbe rivers are too shallow for ordinary river cruise boats. The CroisiEurope river cruise company managed to overcome this challenge by combining old and new technology and launching cruises on board the MS Loire Princesse on the Loire in France and the MS Elbe Princesse on the Elbe River. Check out the Loire cruises from Nantes and the Elbe cruises between Berlin and Prague - these new cruises are just irresistible for cruise lovers!

You can pick from a wide range of themed cruises where every detail is taken care of, including gourmet cruises and wine cruises, as well as Christmas Market and Christmas itineraries.
